What is it?

The Signal Strand™ wire is designed to act as a counterpoise, improving the performance of your antenna by transforming it into a more efficient half-wave dipole. Whether you’re using a Signal Strand™ adapter or creating your own solution, this wire is an essential accessory for optimizing your setup.

Each Signal Strand™ wire is made from super flexible, silicone-insulated material to minimize snags and maximize durability.

What lengths do I need?

The Signal Strand™ comes pre-cut to match the Dual Band Super-Elastic Signal Stick™’s optimal ham radio frequencies. If you’d like to adjust it for a specific use case or create your own, follow these recommended lengths:

Dual-Band Signal Stick™

• 144-148 MHz (2m band) and 440 MHz (70cm band): ~18.5"
• MURS (151-154 MHz) and GMRS (462-467 MHz): ~16.5"

440 Monoband Signal Stick™

• 440 MHz (70cm band): ~6.25"
• GMRS (462-467 MHz): ~5.25"

220 Monoband Signal Stick™

• 222-225 MHz (1.25m band): ~12.5"

These lengths are optimized for Signal Stick™ antennas. For other antennas, experiment to find the best performance, as results may vary.

One Signal Strand™ wire, pre-cut to ~18.5" and equipped with an insulated 4.8mm female spade connector, ready for use with our Signal Strand™ adapters:
